The NHL regular season is finally back in action following the 4 Nations Face-Off when the Edmonton Oilers head to Wells Fargo Center to take on the Philadelphia Flyers.

Connor McDavid was the overtime hero for Canada in this week’s international tournament, but I’ve got my sights set on a Leon Draisaitl goal in my Oilers vs Flyers predictions and NHL picks for this 1 p.m. ET puck drop on Saturday, February 22.

Leon Draisaitl anytime goal (+105 at BET99)

My Oilers analysis
It’s been more than two weeks since the Edmonton Oilers played a game but it was a well-deserved rest for Leon Draisaitl, who heads into the home stretch of the regular season with a league-leading 40 goals — seven more than second-place William Nylander.

Draisaitl went into the 4 Nations break on a tear with four goals in his final three games, capped off by a multi-goal outing against the Avalanche.

The Oilers sharpshooter is averaging 3.4 shots per game this season but was especially trigger-happy in his last five contests as he put six shots on target per game over that span.

That trend bodes well against the Philadelphia Flyers, who rank dead last in the NHL with an .885 save percentage.

Samuel Ersson, who represented Sweden at the 4 Nations Face-Off, will likely get the start between the pipes for Philly. The Swede has been the best of a bad bunch among Flyers goalies this year with an .896 SV%. He’s allowed at least two goals in six straight starts while posting a slightly improved but still subpar .906 SV% and 3.25 GAA across those contests.

Philadelphia also enters play on a pretty bad slide with just one win in its last six games while allowing 3.17 goals against per contest.

Oilers vs Flyers same-game parlay (SGP)

Leon Draisaitl anytime goal

Leon Draisaitl Over 2.5 shots on goal

Under 6.5

Draisaitl leads the NHL with 40 goals for a reason — the big German has chucked at least three shots on net in seven straight and has found the back of the net in seven of his last 10.

While I expect Draisaitl and the Oilers to put up some goals, the opposite can be said for the Flyers. Philly has scored a measly 1.56 goals per game over its last nine contests while being shut out in three of those and held to two goals or fewer six times.

The Under is also 5-1 in Philadelphia’s last six and 6-4 in Edmonton’s last 10.
