While there are only two games on Saturday, it’s always exciting when the playoffs get underway.
The Winnipeg Jets host the St. Louis Blues to kick things off before the Dallas Stars host the Colorado Avalanche in the nightcap.
Let’s get right into my NHL player prop picks as the Stanley Cup Playoffs begin on Saturday, April 19.

Best NHL player prop bets for April 19
Neal Pionk Over 1.5 Shots on Goal (-105 at Sports Interaction)
Winnipeg Jets defenseman Neal Pionk just signed a massive extension to stay in Winnipeg, and for good reason. He averaged over 22 minutes per game this season with 123 shots in 69 games while anchoring the second pair.
The right-handed defenseman had been shooting a lot more in the latter portion of the season. He finished the year with multiple shots in three straight games and five of his last six contests.
Mind you, he missed nearly a month of time due to a lower-body injury before returning for the final three games of the year.
Still, Pionk has been aggressive this calendar year. In 21 games since January 22, Pionk has 47 SOG with 2+ SOG in 17 of those contests.
That includes two shots on six attempts against the St. Louis Blues on February 22 -- his fifth straight game with 2+ SOG against St. Louis.
Tyler Seguin Over 0.5 Points (+110 at Sports Interaction)
Dallas Stars forward Tyler Seguin missed 62 games this season due to a hip injury but returned to pick up an assist in the season finale.
That gave him 21 points in his 20 games played this season, including a two-point game in a 5-3 win against the Avalanche back on November 29.
Seguin is pencilled in on the Stars’ second line with Mason Marchment and Matt Duchene, as well as the second power-play unit.
The veteran has played well against his Central Division rivals in his career with 49 points in 42 games against the Colorado Avalanche.
In fact, Seguin has recorded a point in five of the last six meetings and eight of the last 10. He had five points in the six-game series last year with 13 points in 19 playoff games in total.
Seguin should be jacked up for this game as he returned just in time for the playoffs in a series that could ultimately decide who wins the Western Conference.
Take the plus odds and run.
Martin Necas Over 0.5 Power-Play Points (+280 at Sports Interaction)
The Avalanche made the surprising decision to flip Mikko Rantanen to Carolina this season, but Martin Necas has fit like a glove on the top line with Nathan MacKinnon.
Necas had 28 points (11 goals, 17 assists) in 30 games with the Avalanche this season, and over half of those points (15) came on the man advantage.
The referees typically are more strict early in the series, and there are plenty of power play opps on either side as the teams get into a series.
The physicality should be there from the get-go between these two teams as well, and we can cash in with some power-play point props.
While Nathan MacKinnon (+180) and Cale Makar (+185) are less than two-to-one to get a power-play point, Necas is at +280 for some reason.
Since making his Avs debut on January 15, Necas is tied for the fifth-most power-play points in the league with 15. MacKinnon leads the way with 17 and Makar has 14.
MacKinnon and Makar are both solid bets as well, but we’re getting some great value with Necas at +280.
