Calvin Kattar and Steve Garcia will go toe-to-toe in the fourth fight of the main card at UFC Fight Night in Nashville.

Garcia is the -135 favorite in the UFC odds, with Kattar returning at +115.

A pair of willing combatants in the featherweight division should make this one a candidate for Fight of the Night and my Kattar vs. Garcia predictions and free betting picks explain why I’m expecting the underdog to come out on top on Saturday, July 12.

Kattar vs Garcia prediction and best bet

Fight analysis
At first glance, this might not be the sexiest fight on the card at UFC Fight Night in Nashville. But Calvin Kattar vs. Steve Garcia could end up being a banger.

The 37-year-old Kattar comes into this bout on a four-fight losing streak but has built a reputation as one of the better technical boxers in the featherweight division while boasting plenty of star power on his 32-fight resume.

Mind you, “The Boston Finisher” has lost almost every fight to the high-ranked contenders he’s faced such as Max Holloway and Aljamain Sterling, but the fact that he’s even shared the octagon with these guys should tell you about his level of talent and experience.

Steve Garcia is trending the opposite direction at age 33 with five straight KO wins, though this will be a huge step up in competition for the man known as “Mean Machine.”

Garcia will be the younger, more powerful man, but Kattar is the better technical boxer and tends to pick up steam as fights go on. Kattar also does a good job of rolling with punches, which is why he’s only been knocked out once in 32 professional bouts.

If Garcia can’t find the finish in the opening round, I fully expect Kattar to take over as the fight drags on and impose his will, either on the feet or on the ground. Kattar is the pick.

Best bet analysis
Garcia has ended each of his last five fights in Under 1.5 rounds via knockout, while each of his last seven bouts have been Under 1.5 rounds.

However, Kattar is on a different level compared to Garcia’s usual competition, and that could influence Garcia’s approach as well as his ability to connect on heavy shots early in the fight. As mentioned, Kattar has been knocked out just once in his near 20-year career.

Regardless of who comes out on top, I expect to see a dogfight that goes well into the second if not third round.
