2025 WNBA Championship Odds: Liberty Poised to Run It Back

The 2025 WNBA Draft has brought in some of biggest and brightest stars that have left their mark on women's college basketball and now they transition over to the big leagues to create a legacy on the next level.

By no surprise, the Dallas Wings were the biggest winners of the night after drafting UConn guard Paige Bueckers first overall. As they enter a new chapter, the Wings appear ready to bounce back from a disappointing campaign in which they won just nine games.

The talent was stacked all throughout the draft and there are teams that have managed to make their chances even better for the WNBA Championship when the season tips off on May 16.

Before players report to training camp, let's take a look at the latest WNBA odds to win the 2025 title.

New York Liberty (+175 to +200)

The New York Liberty went all-in back in 2023 when they lured Breanna Stewart, Jonquel Jones, and Courtney Vandersloot to put alongside Sabrina Ionescu, and while they were unable to dethrone the Las Vegas Aces that year, it all came together in 2024.

The Liberty knocked the Aces out in the semifinals before vanquishing a stubborn Minnesota Lynx squad in the finals. With the team's core expected to remain intact for at least one more year, it makes sense that the Liberty would open as favorites to repeat.

Las Vegas Aces (+230 to +250)

Despite A'ja Wilson playing out of her mind for the vast majority of the season, the Las Vegas Aces took a step backward in 2024 as they entered the playoffs as the No. 4 seed. They drew the Liberty in the semis and were knocked out in four games. 

The Aces decided to shake things up by trading Kelsey Plum to the Los Angeles Sparks in a three-team deal that brings six-time All-Star Jewell Loyd to Vegas from the Seattle Storm. The Aces were trading at +350 after the playoffs wrapped and have now jumped to +250 at most books following the blockbuster trade.

With every intent to dump the narrative from last season that they're losing steam, the Aces are firing back and ready to roll.

Indiana Fever (+300 to +1300)

The sky's the limit for the Indiana Fever and Year 2 of the Caitlin Clark experience. They've taken over the third spot in the odds after making notable changes to their roster.

Clark and Co. will now have a heavy veteran presence on their squad with the additions of DeWanna Bonner, Natasha Howard, and Sophie Cunningham in free agency. They added some more help with drafting Makayla Timpson out of Florida State and Bree Hall from South Carolina.

The Fever are making it known that they aren't here to waste time. Expect Clark's second season in the WNBA to make much more noise than last year.

Minnesota Lynx (+350)

The whole proved to be greater than the sum of the parts for the 2024 Minnesota Lynx as Courtney Williams, Alanna Smith, and Bridget Carleton had the best seasons of their respective careers while Lynx veterans Napheesa Collier and Kayla McBride also shined.

The Lynx didn't have any significant departures to worry about in free agency, but will they be content to simply run it back or will they go for the jugular?

Phoenix Mercury (+1000 to +5000)

After significant departures from Diana Taurasi (retirement), Brittney Griner (signed with the Dream in free agency), and Natasha Cloud (traded to the New York Liberty), expectations were starting to hit a new low for the Phoenix Mercury. That quickly took a turn in their favor after racking in key additions to revitalize their roster.

From gaining Alyssa Thomas, Satou Sabally, and Sami Whitcomb during the offseason, the Mercury have created a team that not only looks good on paper, but has enough power to make themselves a title contender once again.

Indiana Fever +400 (Boosted to +450 at bet365)

I’m very bullish on the Fever this season. Not only do I have futures action down on Indiana to win it all, but my early projections call for more than 30 wins from the Fever in 2025.

Indiana not only has the best player in the league in Caitlin Clark (let’s not argue over this – she is) but has built a championship-caliber roster around her as well as hired a competent coach in Stephanie White.

The trio of Clark, Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell wrapped last season averaging a combined 60 points per game over the final 15 contests (Fever went 9-6 SU). That’s as elite a “Big Three” as any other in the WNBA.

The Fever signed veteran pillars DeWanna Bonner and Natasha Howard (five titles between them) and acquired gritty guard Sophie Cunningham, who bolsters the backcourt with Lexie Hull, who played her way into the starting lineup to finish last year.

Understanding WNBA championship odds

Sportsbooks will post odds for the WNBA Finals shortly after the previous season's conclusion. These odds are constantly adjusted throughout the offseason as players switch teams or are injured. Once the regular season begins (May), title odds will change daily as teams win and lose games and more roster changes occur. Sportsbooks will also adjust the WNBA odds based on handle and liability to certain teams.

WNBA Championship odds will usually look like this:

• New York Liberty +300

This means that on a $100 bet, you'll stand to profit $300 if the Liberty win the WNBA title. If it's close to the end of the season and the WNBA has a particularly dominant team, you might see a minus sign (-) ahead of its odds. 

• Las Vegas Aces -380

This means you have to bet $380 to win $100 on an Aces championship.
