The Cincinnati Reds look to end a three-game skid when they face the Atlanta Braves at Truist Park tonight.
The Reds hope Andrew Abbott can give them more than four innings this time out, while the Braves will look for Chris Sale to build off a 10-strikeout performance in his last outing.
Neither of these teams hit well against lefties, and my Reds vs. Braves predictions see that leading to a low-scoring affair.

Reds vs Braves prediction
My Reds vs Braves best bet: Under 8.5 (-118 at DraftKings)
After an iffy start to the campaign, Chris Sale looked like the pitcher the Atlanta Braves relied on a season ago in a dominant start against the Rockies.
While the reigning NL Cy Young winner didn’t get enough run support to avoid a loss on his record, Sale struck out 10 and allowed just two hits with no walks in seven innings at Coors Field.
Tonight, Sale faces a Cincinnati Reds team that isn’t faring well against left-handed pitching. As a unit, the Reds are hitting just .233 against lefties, with a .692 OPS. The Reds also have struck out 305 times already this season, the seventh-most in the majors.
Despite being a switch-hitter, Elly De La Cruz is batting just .234 against LHP, and only two regular starters for the Reds have a mark above .235 this season.
On the flip side, Andrew Abbott hasn’t been allowing many hits, including surrendering multiple earned runs just once this season.
The Braves have been terrible against lefties, with their .204 batting average among the worst in the majors. Michael Harris is hitting an abysmal .154 in same-sided matchups, while Sean Murphy and Orlando Arcia both enter tonight south of the Mendoza Line.
The weather at Truist Park on Tuesday night is expected to be in the 70s with relatively low humidity, and that should help both pitchers limit the longball. That’s especially important for Abbott, who has one of the worst ground-ball rates of any pitcher in baseball but gets away with it due to his high K-rate.
The Reds have scored one run or fewer in four of their last seven games and have the fifth-lowest xBA this season in the majors. As for Atlanta, the Braves’ team total has gone Under in six consecutive home games.
We’ll see another low-scoring affair tonight.
Reds vs Braves same-game parlay (SGP)
The one thing Matt Olson has done well against lefties, just like righties, is draw walks. Abbott’s walk rate is in the fourth percentile of all pitchers this season, while Olson ranks in the 98th percentile in drawing free passes. The Braves' first baseman will achieve a free pass for the ninth time in 11 games.
Austin Riley is the one Atlanta hitter they can rely on against LHP. In 19 plate appearances against opposite-side pitchers, Riley has six hits, including two home runs and a .333 batting average.
Riley is riding a four-game hit streak and has posted a .355 BA at Truist Park, so we’ll back his fine form to continue.
