Micah Peavy Over 18.5 points (-110 at bet365)
My analysis
These two teams met all the way back in December in their conference opener. The Georgetown Hoyas won that game 81-57 in a dominating performance at home. I certainly do not expect a repeat from that game here in Nebraska, but there are plenty of things to look at from that first matchup to find a great bet for this one.
Georgetown guard Micah Peavy had 20 points in that game, shooting 9-for-16 from the field. He was only 1-for-3 from 3-point range, so he was able to get his scoring from inside. That is where he is likely to repeat, as the Creighton Bluejays struggle to defend the paint.
The Bluejays allow 42.9 2-point field goal attempts per game, which ranks 359th in the country. They also allow 56.6% of their opponent’s points from 2-point range, ranking 359th nationally. Teams score on Creighton by getting buckets around the rim and not from deep or from the free-throw line.
That works perfectly for Peavy, who averages 10.2 field goal attempts from inside the 3-point line per game. He averages 10.4 points per game just from 2-point field goals. In Big East play, those numbers go up to 12.3 2-point field goal attempts per game and 12.6 points from those.
The fifth-year senior has scored at least 19 points in each of his last five games and in eight of his last 10 games. The second-leading scorer on the team is questionable with a turf toe injury but is expected to play. If Thomas Sorber is to miss any time, that will only help the likelihood of Peavy hitting this number.
Sorber played a full complement of minutes in the last matchup and was held to only eight points, so his playing time should not affect our bet negatively in this matchup. Creighton has allowed at least 67 points in five of their past six games. Georgetown is likely to continue that trend, and it will be behind the lead of Peavy.

To go with our best bet, I am going to take Malik Mack to get at least four rebounds. He did not play in the previous matchup but is a strong offensive rebounder. The Bluejays allow 11.3 offensive boards per game (300th) and Mack just recently had a game with five offensive rebounds. He has hit this number in 13 of his 24 games this season.
Finally, I am going to add Creighton guard Steven Ashworth to hit at least three threes. In the first matchup, he was 5-for-12 from downtown despite getting blown out. Ashworth averages 3.1 made threes per game and has made at least three in six of his last seven games.
