The Florida Panthers are looking to get on the board in their second-round series as they host the Toronto Maple Leafs in Game 3 on Friday night.
My Maple Leafs vs. Panthers props and NHL picks are targeting two Panthers agitators and a Leafs winger on Friday, May 9.

Maple Leafs vs Panthers player props for May 9
Mitch Marner Over 0.5 assists (-150 at Sports Interaction)
Mitch Marner scored the game-winning goal on Wednesday night in Game 2, but the Toronto Maple Leafs winger is known more for his playmaking than his scoring.
Marner led the Leafs with 102 points and 75 assists in the regular season, and he's up there again in the postseason. William Nylander has a team-leading 13 points thanks to his six goals, but Marner isn't too far behind with eight assists and two goals through eight games in these playoffs.
The pending free agent had assists in back-to-back games before finding the net in Game 2. Going back to the final game of the regular season, Marner has an assist in seven of his last nine games with a total of 10 helpers in that span.
Marner is also a key cog on Toronto's top power-play unit, which finally struck against the Florida Panthers in Game 2. Florida has given the Leafs eight power-play opportunities through two games, and the physicality should continue with the series shifting to Florida.
The Panthers are huge home favorites in Game 3, but Florida has had trouble with the Leafs attacking off the rush.
Marner had an assist in 50 of 81 regular-season games (61.7%) and has a helper in six of eight playoff games thus far. That's a hit rate of 62.9% in 89 games, and this -150 price implies a probability of 60%.
Sam Bennett Over 2.5 shots on goal (-150 at Sports Interaction)
Sam Bennett has been one of the main talking points of this series so far after his bump on Anthony Stolarz caused the Leafs netminder to leave the game. The Panthers center has always stepped up his game in the playoffs and this year is no different, scoring a goal in Game 1 to give the Cats some life.
Bennett has been aggressive with the puck this postseason with 25 shots on goal through seven games. He saw a streak of five games with 3+ SOG come to an end with just one shot in Game 2, but it wasn't for a lack of trying. The centerman had eight shot attempts, but seven missed the net. in fact, Bennett has had eight shot attempts in three straight games and at least six in six straight.
The Panthers are headed back to Florida down 2-0 in the series, so while they’re in desperation mode, they’re far too experienced to panic. They’ll keep playing their game and that includes high shot volume from their forwards, including Bennett.
Bennett had 126 SOG in 37 home games this season as opposed to 115 in 39 on the road. Look for him to keep firing the puck with the Cats down 2-0 at home.
Brad Marchand Over 0.5 points (+105 at Sports Interaction)
Brad Marchand has tormented the Leafs for his entire career; first with the Boston Bruins, and now with the Panthers. He has a point in each of the first two games in this series, and his line with Anton Lundell and Eetu Luostainen has been able to get pressure and chances against the Leafs in this series.
It took a bit for Marchand to find his place on the Panthers with just one point in his first six games. However, he finished the regular season with points in three of his final four games and now has a four-game point streak in the playoffs. Seven of his eight postseason points have come in those four contests.
While Marchand isn't on the top power-play unit, that unit hasn't exactly produced a ton in the playoffs, so he should see some ice time on the man advantage.
Marchand knows what it takes to win in the playoffs and we’re getting plus odds for him to keep his point streak going. I’ll take that with the Panthers as over -200 favorites in Game 3.
