The Edmonton Oilers rallied for a third-period comeback and statement Game 1 win over the Vegas Golden Knights, and the two teams will hit the ice again tonight.

My Oilers vs. Golden Knights predictions have Edmonton tilting the ice in its favor by heading back to Rogers Place with a 2-0 series lead.

Find out more in my NHL picks for Thursday, May 8.

Who will win Oilers vs Golden Knights Game 2?

Edmonton was dominant at five-on-five in Game 1, and Vegas was limited to only nine shots and three high-danger scoring chances.

Superstars Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl are obviously leading the way during Edmonton’s five-game winning streak, but all four lines have been contributing during the playoffs.

Back the Oilers to take care of business on Thursday.

Oilers vs Golden Knights prediction

My Oilers vs Golden Knights pick: Oilers moneyline (+115 at BET99)

The Edmonton Oilers steamrolled the Vegas Golden Knights at five-on-five in Game 1, boasting a 57.7 Corsi For percentage and 73.5 expected goals percentage.

Vegas generated just 22 shots and seven high-danger scoring chances, and Edmonton finished with a 62.2 xGF%.

Oilers netminder Calvin Pickard has won five straight, and while his .896 SV% and 0.77 goals saved above expected don’t stand out, he’s provided steady play since joining the club ahead of the 2023-24 season, posting a 34-17-2 record with a .903 SV% and 2.61 GAA.

Edmonton has the offensive firepower to win games with average goaltending, and Pickard is providing that.

All eyes are on Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, but I value the Edmonton supporting cast doing their part. There are 13 Oilers with at least two points and 12 who have found the back of the net during Edmonton’s five-game winning streak.

Oilers vs Golden Knights same-game parlay (SGP)

Oilers moneyline

Connor McDavid Over 0.5 assists

Evander Kane Over 2.5 shots

McDavid has picked up an assist in six of seven postseason games, and he also collected 34 helpers across 25 games during last year’s playoffs.

Skating with Draisaitl in all situations also helps because the duo has been on the ice for 17 goals and 42 high-danger scoring chances over just 121:13 of shared ice time this postseason, which checks out at 8.41 goals and 20.79 HDCF per 60 minutes.

Turning to Oilers winger Evander Kane, he’s recorded three or more shots in three of five games during the Edmonton winning streak. The veteran has just three total across the past two contests despite registering 11 attempts, so look for Kane’s shooting efficiency to correct itself.
