Champions League trophy holders Real Madrid need a perfect performance at the Bernabeu if they stand any chance of qualification into this year's semifinals.

They head into this match with a three-goal deficit on their shoulders. Arsenal punished the Spanish giants hard last week in North London, coming out 3-0 winners to mark their biggest European night in a long time.

With Kylian Mbappe & Co. looking to turn early pressure into goals in the second leg of the quarterfinals, my Real Madrid vs. Arsenal predictions forecast a high-scoring start on Wednesday, April 16.

Real Madrid vs Arsenal picks and predictions

My best bet: Over 1.5 goals in the first half (+121 at TonyBet)

My analysis
It's needless to say that Real Madrid will look for goals as early in the game as possible. They will be desperate to score, and they have the players and the attacking power to harm any defence in the world. Carlo Ancelotti can count on his explosive four against Arsenal, and given the importance of this matchup, they will probably all start.

Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Jr., Rodrygo, and Jude Bellingham know that any wasted opportunity can translate into Real Madrid being kicked out of the Champions League on Wednesday night, so they must be at their best. Arsenal also boasts plenty of talented players who know how to exploit the space they’re likely to find in Madrid’s half.

TonyBet offers a great +121 return for over 1.5 goals in the first half of the game, so I'll grab it. Big games require big players to shine, so if you feel tempted to go for an individual performance, know that picking Kylian Mbappe as an anytime goalscorer pays +106.

Arsenal are undefeated in their last five games against Real Madrid. They should feel empowered by these stats and push for their first Champions League semifinal presence since 2009.

Real Madrid vs Arsenal same-game parlay (SGP)

Over 1.5 goals in the first half

Kylian Mbappe 4+ shots on goal

Booking 1x2 Arsenal

Kylian Mbappe failed to win the Champions League as a PSG player, and one of his main objectives in wearing the Real Madrid shirt is to finally lift it. Mbappe has found it hard to adapt to life at the Bernabeu, but he seems to have put the dark days behind him.

Real Madrid will push hard against Arsenal, and Mbappe will have the mission to finish many of his side's attacks. There will be context for shooting, and I won't miss him in my parlay.

In the 13 games he played since the start of the Champions League campaign, Mbappe netted seven times on 49 total attempts. He is dangerous anywhere you put him, so I trust him to get me numbers for my SGP.

To round up a really nice return via TonyBet, I included bookings as well. Arsenal should have no problem getting physical if they feel they need to stop Real Madrid's attacks, and I believe there will also be plenty of context for cards as well.
