Week 6 in the CFL kicks off on Friday night with a clash between the Calgary Stampeders and Saskatchewan Roughriders at Mosaic Stadium.

The Stamps are coming off a win against previously unbeaten Winnipeg, and now they'll try to upset another unbeaten opponent. That said, my Stampeders vs. Roughriders predictions are backing the home side to roll.

Here are my best free CFL picks for this West Division battle on July 11.

Stampeders vs Roughriders prediction

My Stampeders vs Roughriders pick: Roughriders -5.5 (-110 at BET99)

The Calgary Stampeders are coming off a huge win at home against Winnipeg, but this is a letdown spot at one of the toughest road venues in the CFL.

The Stamps beat the Bombers but were outgained 408-334, had four fewer minutes of possession, and generated 13 fewer first downs. They benefited from four Winnipeg turnovers, turning two of them into touchdowns.

They won't win the turnover battle against the Saskatchewan Roughriders, who have committed the fewest turnovers in the league and are second in TO margin (+4).

The Riders are 4-0 straight up and against the spread, and are currently the Grey Cup favourites. They are also fresh off a bye after dismantling the Lions 37-18 in Week 4. They were able to put up points against BC despite the absence of quarterback Trevor Harris.

That was thanks to All-Star running back A.J. Ouellette, who rushed for 139 yards on 23 carries. With Harris returning this week and Ouellette pounding the rock against a Calgary D that has allowed a league-high 5.9 yards per carry, Saskatchewan's offense will roll.

On the other side of the ball, the Riders' stout run defense should be able to contain Dedrick Mills. That will force the Stamps to beat them through the air, but Calgary is second-last in the CFL in pass efficiency (90.4) with QB Vernon Adams. Jr looking inconsistent.

Stampeders vs Roughriders same-game parlay (SGP)

Roughriders -5.5

Under 53.5

The Riders will have Harris back under center, but they are missing two of their top receivers in Sam Emilus and Shawn Bane Jr., while left guard Trevon Tate has also been ruled out.

Calgary's WR corps is also decimated by injuries, with Clark Barnes joining All-Star Reggie Begelton on the sidelines. They are also still waiting for the return of stud wideout Malik Henry, who is still rehabbing from a torn patellar tendon in May of 2024.

The total opened at 51.5 and has been bet up to 53.5, but I'm going against the line movement. These teams are first and second in the league in rushing yards per game. With both their WR corps banged up, they could lean heavily on their ground games, which will drain the clock and lead to a lower-scoring contest.
