Two teams streaking in opposite directions clash at Oracle Park this afternoon when the San Francisco Giants seek their fifth straight win against the Atlanta Braves, who have dropped six straight.

Heliot Ramos has been a significant contributor during San Francisco’s winning streak, and I’ll look for him to cross the plate again in my Braves vs. Giants predictions and MLB picks for Sunday, June 8.

Braves vs Giants prediction

My Braves vs Giants best bet: Heliot Ramos 1+ runs scored (+125 at Caesars)

The San Francisco Giants eked out a 3-2 win against the Atlanta Braves yesterday thanks to a two-run homer off the bat of Matt Chapman in the bottom of the ninth, as he and Heliot Ramos crossed the plate to give the hosts their fourth straight victory.

Ramos has scored a run in three straight outings and eight of his last 11 contests — a trend that I think should hold this afternoon in the series finale vs. Atlanta. The outfielder has been San Francisco’s most consistent bat this season, leading the team with a .347 average and .407 on-base percentage in May while still hitting .321 through the first week of June.

The Giants will face Braves starter Spencer Strider, who’s faced early struggles like most of his team. Strider owns a brutal 5.68 ERA and a 1.37 WHIP through four starts and is coming off a poor performance against Arizona, where he allowed six hits, three homers, and five earned runs through just five innings of work.

San Francisco should be able to get its offense going vs. Strider, and I’m expecting Ramos to be at the forefront of the offense.

Giants moneyline

Under 9.5

The Giants should have the upper hand on the mound as Landen Roupp has rounded into form over the past month. The right-hander pitched 6 1/3 scoreless innings against the Padres last time out and has allowed just one earned run over his last four starts — a stark contrast to Strider, who’s given up 10 over his last three.

The bats have been relatively quiet for both teams this season, as the Giants (4.11 runs per game; 19th) and Braves (4.06 runs per game, 22nd) rank near the bottom of the MLB in scoring.

San Francisco has finished Under 9.5 in 14 of its last 15 games, while Atlanta has done so in six of its last eight outings.
