With Major League Baseball on a brief stoppage due to All-Star Game festivities, let's take a look and see where MLB MVP odds stand.
Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani are still runaway MLB odds leaders, but Cal Raleigh and Pete Crow-Armstrong, respectively, are hanging around the conversation.
Let's break down the races in this week's AL & NL MVP odds.

AL MVP odds analysis
Aaron Judge and Cal Raleigh appear to be the only two logical options for AL MVP at the moment, as both players are +400 or shorter (and in Judge's case, way shorter).
While it won't contribute to his MVP chances, Raleigh capped off his incredible first half by winning the 2025 Home Run Derby, something he's dreamed about since childhood.

While Ceddanne Rafaela likely won't emerge as the eventual AL MVP, his inclusion on the odds board is worth noting. He is possibly the best defensive center fielder in baseball. That sort of fielding prowess was never really in question. His bat, though, had question marks.
Well, he's quelled those concerns, at least for now, by slashing .271/.314/.483 with 14 home runs and 13 stolen bases in 92 games. Rafaela likely didn't want the All-Star break to arrive, as he was hitting an absurd .390 with five home runs in 11 July games before play ceased.

NL MVP odds analysis
Pete Crow-Armstrong continues to maintain his offensive production well into the dog days of the 2025 season. In 12 July games, PCA is slashing .286/.327/.592 with four of his 25 home runs. His 27 stolen bases trail only Jose Ramirez and Oneil Cruz, and he's striking out in fewer than 23% of his plate appearances.
He measures up to Shohei Ohtani remarkably well. The Los Angeles Dodgers' two-way star boasts more power and a better on-base percentage, but PCA plays elite defense while Ohtani is firmly a DH...except when he's pitching.
But the Dodgers are (understandably) taking things slowly with Ohtani on the mound, limiting his innings through five appearances. However, he pitched a season-high three innings in his last appearance before the All-Star break, striking out four while allowing one hit and one walk.
This potential, combined with Ohtani's vaunted track record, is contributing to the gap between him and Crow-Armstrong. If Ohtani continues to ramp up through the second half, any PCA gains will ultimately be moot.

MLB MVP odds explained
Most sportsbooks will display odds in the American format as listed above. When Goldschmidt ran away with the MVP award in 2022 his odds had a minus (-) sign ahead of the number for a large part of the season.
- Paul Goldschmidt -6000
That means that a bettor in August had to wager $6,000 to win $100 by betting on Goldy to win MVP. Before the season starts, almost every player will have a plus (+) sign ahead of their odds.
- Shohei Ohtani +200
That means a bettor would have profited $200 for a $100 wager on Ohtani before the season started.
If American odds aren't your thing, simply use a tool like our odds converter to switch the odds to decimal or fractional format. Most online sportsbooks also give you the option to change the odds format that you see.
