The 2025 NBA playoffs begin on Saturday with a quartet of intriguing Game 1 matchups.

The postseason is when stars shine their brightest, and my favorite NBA picks for today are backing a trio of All-Stars, including Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert.

Here are my best free NBA picks for April 19.

Best NBA player props today

NBA player props for April 19

Tyrese Haliburton Under 1.5 turnovers (-105 at bet365)

Despite ranking third in the NBA in assists per game (9.2), Indiana Pacers point guard Tyrese Haliburton averages just 1.6 turnovers per game.

Part of the reason is that he has a relatively low usage rate for a lead guard (21%) the other is that he simply does a great job taking care of the ball. The All-Star has logged fewer than 1.5 turnovers in 16 of his last 21 games.

He also didn't have more than a single turnover in any of Indiana's four clashes with the Milwaukee Bucks this season. That's not surprising since Milwaukee doesn't apply much ball pressure and ranks just 26th in opponent turnover rate (12.5%).

Cade Cunningham Over 1.5 threes (-140 at bet365)

Cade Cunningham caught on fire down the stretch for the Detroit Pistons, dropping 35+ points in four of his last five games. Cunningham averaged 2.1 threes per game during the regular season and has eclipsed this number in five of his last six contests.

He also had plenty of success from deep against the New York Knicks, hitting more than 1.5 threes in all four meetings and draining a total of 13 treys.

The Knicks are just 26th in the league in opponent 3-point defense (36.7%). They are also 7-point home favorites today which could result in Cunningham taking plenty of 3-point attempts if Detroit falls behind on the scoreboard.

Rudy Gobert Over 11.5 rebounds (-105 at bet365)

Since trading Anthony Davis for Luka Doncic, the Los Angeles Lakers have been playing a lot of small-ball. While those lineups are a nightmare for opponents to defend they tend to struggle on the other end of the floor.

Lineups that featured Doncic, LeBron James, Austin Reaves, and no big, ended the year with a defensive rebounding rate of 66.5%. The lowest number in the NBA during the regular season belonged to the 76ers who had a 71.8% mark.

They'll get crushed on the glass by a massive Minnesota Timberwolves frontcourt anchored by Rudy Gobert. Gobert generates a ton of second chances, ranking sixth in the league in offensive rebounds per game (3.7).

He has been even more dominant in that area lately, averaging 4.7 offensive rebounds per game and 12.5 total rebounds per game since the start of February. With Gobert pulling down 12+ boards in seven of his last 10 games, take the Over 11.5 on his rebounds tonight.
