The Edmonton Oilers have a commanding 2-0 series lead over the Vegas Golden Knights, which they’ll be looking to build on in Game 3 at home.

Let’s look at a few players who should play prominent roles with my favorite Golden Knights vs. Oilers props and NHL picks for May 10.

Best Golden Knights vs Oilers props

  • Red Wings Hanifin o1.5 shots (-125)
  • Red Wings Bouchard o0.5 assists (-105)
  • Red Wings Kane o2.5 shots (+120)

Golden Knights vs Oilers player props for May 10

Noah Hanifin Over 1.5 shots (-125 at Bet99)

Noah Hanifin posted a solid 56% hit rate this season and has ramped his shooting up a couple of notches in the playoffs.

He averaged 1.9 shots on 4.2 attempts in the regular season, which doesn’t compare to his playoff averages of 2.6 shots on 6.1 attempts. While Hanifin posted better shot outputs at home than on the road during the year, that hasn’t been a problem for him in the playoffs.

Hanifin has recorded multiple shots in two of three road games thus far and missed the net on several attempts that could’ve gotten him Over the line in the other.

Nobody on Vegas has been on the ice for more shot attempts through two games in this series, while Hanifin also ranks third in total ice time. Down 2-0 in the series, the Golden Knights will rely heavily on the D-man in a do-or-die game.

Evan Bouchard Over 0.5 assists (-105 at Bet99)

The Oilers have scored well above 3.5 goals per game at home over their last 20 games played in Edmonton.

Evan Bouchard has been a driving force for them offensively, especially when it comes to playmaking. Bouchard’s picked up at least one assist in 14 of those games, good for a whopping 70% success rate.

Kris Knoblauch can get Bouchard in more opportune offensive situations while controlling the matchups in Edmonton. Clearly, that has benefited Bouchard.

His home cooking should continue in Game 3 against Vegas. The Golden Knights have struggled mightily to contain Bouchard thus far, as the Oilers have generated 74 attempts — 38 shots on target — and seven goals through just two games. All of those outputs lead the Oilers.

Bouchard has a couple of assists to show for it, and there’s been plenty of opportunity for more. Look for Bouchard to pick up another apple this time out.

Evander Kane Over 2.5 shots (+120 at Bet99)

Evander Kane is shooting the lights out right now. He's cleared this line in four of the last six games, attempting six or more shots in five of those outings.

While Kane did not play during the regular season, he posted a 77% hit rate last year when generating at least six attempts. That kind of volume generally leads to great success with his shot total.

For whatever reason, Kane always seems to have his best for the Golden Knights. He's recorded three shots on goal in seven of the last eight against Vegas and attempted seven shots the one time he did miss, meaning the opportunity was still there.

Kane is playing on a line with Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Zach Hyman, where he clearly established himself as the go-to shooter. Look for another big volume performance in Game 3.
