The end of the NHL regular season is in sight, and there’s just a single playoff berth remaining up for grabs, and the Montreal Canadiens can punch that ticket with a single point in their season finale on Wednesday.

My top NHL player props feature a trio of high-volume shooters shining down the stretch and headlined by Predators winger Luke Evangelista and Ducks emerging star Cutter Gauthier.

Best NHL player prop bets for April 16

Luke Evangelista 3+ shots (+210 at DraftKings)

With the Dallas Stars likely to rest multiple defensemen in this meaningless game, I like the Nashville Predators' chances to drive the play. Preds winger Luke Evangelista has been dangerous down the stretch and recorded 3+ shots in six of his past seven games while averaging 16:06 of ice time per night.

Plus, in addition to Dallas unlikely to dress its best roster tonight, the Stars have missed No. 1 defenseman Miro Heiskanen (knee) in a big way. Dallas has allowed the most shots per game (32.8) and ranks 30th in Corsi For percentage at 5-on-5 through 31 games without the star blueliner.

Cutter Gauthier Over 2.5 shots (+145 at bet365)

Anaheim Ducks winger Cutter Gauthier’s 12.91 shots per 60 minutes across his past 15 games are pacing the entire NHL, and he’s second in attempts per 60 with 26.92. He doesn’t log huge minutes with an average of 14:33 during the run, but he’s still recorded 3+ shots in nine of the 15 contests for 47 total on 98 attempts.

This is obviously a tough matchup on the surface with the Winnipeg Jets sitting atop the NHL standings, but the Jets have nothing to play for and will likely rest multiple key players.

Viktor Arvidsson Over 2.5 shots (-135 at DraftKings)

Good luck guessing the Edmonton Oilers lineup tonight, but I’m expecting Viktor Arvidsson to suit up, and he’s been a consistent shooter down the stretch with a team-high 32 shots across his past nine contests. He’s recorded 3+ in six of those nine, too.

Of course, this is a soft matchup with the San Jose Sharks allowing the second-most shots per game (31.8) and sporting a 31st-ranked 45.4 Corsi For percentage for the campaign. Arvidsson is also likely to skate with the No. 1 power-play unit again, and the Sharks have averaged the second-most minutes shorthanded this season, too.
