The WNBA playoffs are in full swing and feature home teams in desperate need of a victory.

My WNBA player prop predictions focus on Kelsey Mitchell, Erica Wheeler, and Nneka Ogwumike’s solid home matchups.

Read on for my WNBA picks for Tuesday, September 16.

WNBA player prop bets for September 16

  • Sparks Kelsey Mitchell Over 19.5 points (-108)
  • Sparks Erica Wheeler Over 1.5 made threes (+130)
  • Sparks Nneka Ogwumike Over 16.5 points (-108)

Kelsey Mitchell Over 19.5 points

(-108 at FanDuel)

Indiana Fever All-Star Kelsey Mitchell remains the focal point of Indiana’s offense, and her points prop looks inviting ahead of Game 2 in Atlanta.

She has scored 20 or more points in three of her past five contests, with her brief scoring lull before the playoffs being more a result of limited minutes than poor shooting.

Mitchell erupted for 27 in the series opener, shredding an Atlanta Dream defense from everywhere and converting 8-of-9 free throws.

As Indiana’s go-to option, she should log 30-plus minutes in a must-win setting. With usage and volume firmly on her side, Mitchell is well-positioned to post another 20-point performance at home on Tuesday night.

Erica Wheeler Over 1.5 made threes

(+130 at bet365)

Seattle Storm veteran Erica Wheeler enters tonight’s home game against the Las Vegas Aces coming off an ugly 1-for-5 shooting night from downtown.

Before Game 1, she knocked down two or more threes in six straight games, and recently tied her season high with five triples in the Storm's regular-season finale against Golden State.

Wheeler averages around five long-range attempts per game and shoots a robust 37.3% from deep this season on roughly 26 minutes off the Seattle bench.

Wheeler is a spark plug off the Storm bench, and she’ll likely play at least 25 minutes. Las Vegas allowed

Nneka Ogwumike Over 16.5 points

(-108 at FanDuel)

Nneka Ogwumike has been a steady scorer for Seattle all season, and her points prop at 16.5 feels very playable heading into Game 2 against Las Vegas.

The veteran forward averaged 18.3 points per game during the regular season, clearing this line comfortably in six of her previous 10 games.

Ogwumike managed just 11 points on 50% shooting in the series opener, but that was on the road in a game where the Storm dished only 15 dimes.

The Storm needs to get Ogwumike going, and I expect Seattle to feed their leading scorer early and often. She should get 30 minutes or more, and I’m betting Ogwumike has a bounce-back scoring night.
