His underlying metrics suggest that this success is likely to continue. This season, Rodon ranks in the top quarter of the league in expected ERA (xERA), expected batting average (xBA), and strikeout rate.
Meanwhile, he's dominated Minnesota over the past few seasons, posting a 4-0 record with a 1.80 ERA across the past four meetings. All four of those wins came by at least a three-run margin.
Another lopsided victory is likely Monday with right-hander Simeon Woods Richardson taking the mound for the Twins. Woods Richardson carries a 4.58 ERA and 1.39 WHIP through 20 appearances this year.
