Saturday’s NBA slate features two pivotal Game 3s. Down two games to none, the Boston Celtics will need to pull off a win against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden to keep their postseason dreams alive and avoid going down 3-0.

Meanwhile, the Golden State Warriors will host the Minnesota Timberwolves at Chase Center with the series tied at a game apiece.

Here are my three favorite NBA player props and NBA picks for May 10.

Best NBA player props today

  • TEAM Hield o14.5 points (-105)
  • TEAM Robinson o4.5 points (+105)
  • TEAM Kuminga o14.5 points (-110)

NBA player props for May 10

Buddy Hield Over 14.5 points (-105 at bet365)

Buddy Hield has been on a heater over his last three games, and I expect him to stay hot in Game 3. Across his last three outings, Hield has averaged 24 points and six triples while shooting 50% from the field and 64.3% from beyond the arc.

After taking a backseat in the Warriors’ rotation for much of the season, Hield has averaged 35.3 minutes per game over his three-game heater, and he’s scored at least 15 points in three straight. He logged only 29 minutes in the Game 2 blowout, but he should see more playing time with a closer score in Game 3.

In four games against the Wolves with at least 29 minutes played, Hield scored 15 or more points each time. On the season, he averaged 10.7 points with Curry available and 13.8 with him sidelined.

Mitchell Robinson Over 4.5 points (+105 at bet365)

This is a low line, but Mitchell Robinson isn’t typically known for his offensive firepower. This one is hard to pass up at just 4.5 points for plus money.

Robinson logged only 17 regular-season games this season, but he’s appeared in all eight postseason games for New York. He’s averaged just 3.9 points in those eight games and hit the Over three times.

Robinson logged at least 20 minutes in each of the series' first two games, and he finished with at least five points once. In seven games played with at least 20 minutes this season, Robinson averaged 7.7 points and hit the Over five times. I expect Robinson to see 20 or more minutes for a third straight game as the Knicks look to counter Boston’s size.

Jonathan Kuminga Over 14.5 points (-110 at bet365)

Jonathan Kuminga’s season with the Warriors has been a rollercoaster. He’s had some dizzying highs and some staggering lows, getting left completely out of the rotation on more than one occasion.

With Steph Curry out, Steve Kerr had little choice but to get Kuminga back into the rotation. In Game 2, Double Zero logged 26 minutes and led the team in scoring with 18. The Warriors fell behind early and lost by 24, but a more competitive Game 3 at home should mean more minutes and more scoring for Kuminga.

Kuminga logged 27 games with at least 25 minutes this season, averaging 19.3 in those contests. He finished with at least 15 points in 23 of them, and I expect him to see significant playing time tonight as one of Golden State’s go-to options on offense.
