Conference play begins this week for both traditional powerhouse programs when the No. 21-ranked Michigan Wolverines travel to Lincoln to take on the 3-0 Nebraska Cornhuskers.
Points could be at a premium with these two defenses that have yet to allow more than 24 points in a single game.
Michigan vs Nebraska prediction
Michigan vs Nebraska best bet: Under 44.5 (-110)
This Michigan Wolverines defense ranks 33rd nationally in scoring, allowing 14.7 points per game. They held Oklahoma, which averages 33.7 points per game, to just 24 points on the road. They were able to force two turnovers as well.
And while this Nebraska Cornhuskers defense has only had one big test, they held Cincinnati to only 17 points on a neutral field. They also forced two turnovers and held them to only 271 total yards. Cincy scored 34 and 70 points in their other two games.
The Nebraska offense had a lot of yards and success in that game, but they struggled in the red zone and were held to just 20 points. They're going to struggle to find the endzone consistently against this Wolverines defense.
Michigan will be without a starting guard, and freshman quarterback Bryce Underwood has been very inconsistent with a 57.5% completion percentage. This will be a close, low-scoring game, making the Under the best play on the board.
Michigan vs Nebraska same-game parlay
To add to the Under, I'm going to take Underwood to struggle in the passing game and Dane Key to find the endzone. Nebraska has one of the best passing offenses in the country, and Key has a touchdown in each game this season.
