The Las Vegas Aces and Indiana Fever are right in the middle of the pack of the league standings with matching 8-8 records, and they meet at Gainbridge Fieldhouse at 7:00 p.m. ET tonight. The game can be seen on Amazon Prime.
The Fever are navigating life without Caitlin Clark once again, and my Aces vs. Fever predictions note that they have found success thanks to Natasha Howard.
My WNBA picks for Thursday, July 3 zero in on why Howard will stay hot.
Aces vs Fever predictions
My Aces vs Fever best bet: Natasha Howard to record a double-double (+375 at BetMGM)
No Caitlin Clark, no problem for the Indiana Fever.
The home team for tonight's matchup has cracked the code on surviving without heavily depending on the presence of their star guard. Kelsey Mitchell has assumed the position of Indiana's leading scorer since Clark's absence with double-digit point performances — sporting 12, 32, and 20 points respectively throughout the past three contests.
Aliyah Boston hasn't trailed far behind Mitchell — two double-doubles in that same time span, might I add — with putting up significant numbers that have undoubtedly helped the Fever win two out of their last three games without Clark.
However, it's Natasha Howard that's been getting the job done in numerous ways with back-to-back doubles-doubles in their stunning Commissioner's Cup wins over Minnesota and Dallas.
The Fever forward has been hot on scoring and on the boards after going for 16 points and 12 rebounds on Tuesday night and a 15-point, 13-rebound performance against Dallas on Friday.
Indiana continues to show us all why it'll be a threat to the rest of the league with its roster being able to hold the weight regardless of who's in or out. And nobody's feeling like they can hold their own more than the veteran experience of Howard.
The third time's the charm as I bank on her locking in another double-double tonight against an unsteady Las Vegas Aces team.
Will Caitlin Clark play tonight?
No. Caitlin Clark will be sidelined for a fourth straight game due to a groin injury.
Aces vs Fever same-game parlay (SGP)
We've talked about what Howard can do for Indiana, but let's get into the Western Conference Player of the Week: A'ja Wilson.
The Aces may be all over the place in a very uncharacteristic start for a team that's floating below the high expectations that have been set for them — and also, by them — since the 2025 campaign has tipped off, but the one constant remains and that is Wilson doing Wilson things. The Las Vegas superstar has been putting the team on her back after logging 20+ points in five straight games.
Coming off of a major win over a hot Mercury squad, where she racked up a double-double with 26 points and 18 rebounds, Wilson is feeling it and that will indeed carry over into the second game of their five-game road trip.
I'm an agent of chaos and after pulling off an upset over the Lynx earlier this week, the Aces should be a piece of cake for the Fever to keep the wins rolling in. Take the home team to protect home court and stop Las Vegas in their tracks.
