Rhyne Howard is a game-time decision for the Dream, but we're targeting another member of the Atlanta backcourt to provide both scoring and playmaking tonight.

The Atlanta Dream needed a new identity after finishing 15-25 in 2024, and this retooled roster now looks like a sneaky contender heading into tonight's clash with the frisky Golden State Valkyries.

Although Golden State is 7-3 in its last 10 games, my Valkyries vs. Dream predictions are dialed in on a red-hot piece the Atlanta backcourt. See why I'm backing Jordin Canada to have a productive night in my WNBA picks for this July 7 clash.

My Valkyries vs. Dream best bet: Jordin Canada Over 15.5 points + assists (-114 at FanDuel)

It's a nice luxury for Atlanta Dream head coach Karl Smesko to have three terrific guards to anchor his offense. Rhyne Howard's injury has been a setback, but Allisha Gray and Jordin Canada can absorb the extra workload — and odds for both players are worth a long look, even with Howard listed as a game-time decision.

I've decided to target Canada tonight as she's coming off a 25-5-5 line on Thursday and has blown past this combo O/U in each of her past three outings. It's a major improvement after a slow start to her year, and while she's still only shooting 23% from downtown, her minutes are trending in the right direction, plus she seems to be in a better rhythm with more time on the court.

She's averaging 4.5 assists per game, a number that has some extra gloss after 20 dimes across her last three contests, but the playmaking could be the secondary piece in this prop pick if she again finishes with 10+ field goal attempts.

The Golden State Valkyries will need to commit extra bodies to contain Brittney Griner and Brionna Jones in the paint, which should lead to open looks for the Atlanta guards — and I'm counting on Canada being at the center of those possessions.

Valkyries vs Dream same-game parlay (SGP)

Jordin Canada Over 15.5 points + assists

Tiffany Hayes 2+ threes

Valkyries +6.5

As much as the Dream's depth is a plus, the Valkyries are no pushovers, covering the spread in seven of their last 10 games. This 6.5-point line feels a little high given that Atlanta has lost three of its past four contests.

Sticking with Golden State, Tiffany Hayes drilled five triples against the Minnesota Lynx at the weekend, and I'm taking the Over on 1.5 makes from beyond the arc here. She's nailed 2+ threes in four of her past five outings.
