HR picks for May 12
Ketel Marte (+450 at DraftKings)
The Diamondbacks were without Ketel Marte for a short period, but they’re definitely glad he’s back, and I'm glad to add him to my MLB picks.
Since being reinstated from the IL, the infielder is crushing. He has three home runs in his last 10 games, and they all came against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Marte has had four hits in his last four games, and he’ll face Justin Verlander tonight. The righty has already given up six bombs this season and has issues with the long ball.
Fernando Tatis Jr. (+390 at DraftKings)
Fernando Tatis Jr. leads the San Diego Padres in home runs with nine, and I believe he could hit double digits tonight. He’s in the middle of a five-game hitting streak and has a dinger. Tatis is swinging the bat with authority, and tonight’s matchup plays in his favor.
The Los Angeles Dodgers will start Yusei Kikuchi, who has always had problems with the homer. He’s surrendered six of them in 2025, and Tatis Jr is 2-for-8 vs. the lefty with a bomb.
This contest also takes place at Petco Park, where the slugger is batting nearly .400 with five home runs.
Aaron Judge (+190 at DraftKings)
Aaron Judge is a regular in my picks, but it’s a no-brainer. He leads the big leagues in nearly every offensive category, including home runs with 14. The New York Yankees superstar is truly in a league of his own.
Judge has three bombs in his last five games and just went deep twice on Saturday against the Athletics. The Yankees begin a series with the Seattle Mariners tonight, and he had two home runs in seven games against them last year, batting nearly .400 in the process.
While Judge has never faced M’s starter Emerson Hancock, it doesn’t matter. Regardless of who an opponent throws at him, the reigning AL MVP tends to do damage in one way or another. He’s also hitting .429 on the road.
