Steelers vs Patriots prediction
Steelers vs Patriots Best bet: Steelers -1.5 (-108)
The Pittsburgh Steelers started the season strong with a narrow but impressive win over the Jets, only to follow it up with a convincing loss to the Seahawks. After seeing Aaron Rodgers dominate in Week One with four passing touchdowns, it was a jarring regression to watch him throw twice as many interceptions as touchdowns in Week Two. Rodgers was one of the best quarterbacks of his generation, but now, perhaps in the twilight of his career, we may only see flashes of that brilliance in shorter bursts.
Fortunately for Rodgers and the Steelers, a trip to face the New England Patriots presents the perfect opportunity for a “get-right” game. New England’s defense is allowing a league-high 315 passing yards per game and has struggled to contain both the Dolphins and the Raiders. While it’s still early in the season, it’s fair to say that both of those teams are likely inferior to the Seahawks, and potentially even the Jets, that Pittsburgh has already faced.
The Steelers haven’t been strong against the run, which is an area the Patriots will likely try to exploit. However, if New England continues to give up big chunks of yardage through the air on every possession, they may be forced to abandon the run game altogether.
Steelers vs Patriots same-game parlay
In addition to our best bet for Steelers vs. Patriots, we’re going to back Patriots wideout Kayshon Boutte to have Over 2.5 receptions. The former LSU man is finally showing why he was once touted as an NFL star and has seven catches on nine targets this season.
For the final leg of the bet, we’re backing DK Metcalf to find the endzone. With the Steelers likely to see success in the passing game, we might see Metcalf his paydirt. He’s been a popular target for Rodgers so far, with 13 targets across both games, and found the endzone in last weekend’s defeat to the Seahawks.

Our big-ticket SGP: Steelers trust Rodgers to air it out
- Rodgers has thrown for more than 224.5 yards once in two games, the opener, but given the Pats are giving up 315 passing yards per game, we should expect Rodgers to hit the Over.
- Rhamondre Stevenson had 11 carries in the win over the Dolphins, racking up 54 yards on the ground, and should have another productive day, even with rookie TreVeyon Henderson looking to take reps off him.
