For the third and final matchup this season, the Dallas Wings and Chicago Sky square off with the home side aiming to complete a sweep of Paige Bueckers & Co.

My Wings vs. Sky predictions back Chicago to cover the spread against a team it appears to have solved.

Find out more in my WNBA picks for Wednesday, July 9, with tip-off set for 8:00 p.m. ET from Wintrust Arena.

Wings vs Sky predictions

My Wings vs Sky best bet: Sky -1.5 (-105 at BetMGM)

Wins are hard to come by for the Chicago Sky, but they seem to have the Dallas Wings' number this season. After taking the first two games against the visitor in May, the two teams meet again and the Sky undoubtedly have the advantage — which is a rare occurrence for a team that currently stands at a 5-13 record.

With multiple starters ruled out for the Wings — including Arike Ogunbowale, DiJonai Carrington, and Maddy Siegrist — Dallas finds themselves in a vulnerable spot against a team that they haven't been able to get it together against.

In their previous contests against the Sky, each of the starters that are currently nursing injuries were pivotal pieces to Dallas' scoring in those matchups. Now, the Wings will turn to Paige Bueckers to try and keep them afloat.

If Chicago was able to pull off wins with the Wings at full strength, then they should be able to do what needs to be done on their home floor to go 3-0 against a shorthanded version of their opponent, which also leaves me to believe that the Sky can secure a victory beyond what the spread suggests.

Lay the points with the home team as they get back in the win column after a rough two-game skid.

Paige Bueckers pick: Heavy Load for the Rookie

My best bet
Paige Bueckers Over 18.5 points (-115 at BetMGM)

With Ogunbowale ruled out, expect a lot of the offensive weight to be carried by the rookie tonight.

Bueckers was able to lift the Wings over a soaring Phoenix Mercury team in stunning fashion last week, but when it came down to their rematch on Monday, Dallas looked like a shell of a team that had performed well days prior.

Regardless, Bueckers has shown that she can get the Wings to play with the best of them, and facing a Sky team that's next-to-last in the WNBA standings, her points prop is set to pop tonight.

Chicago's defense isn't intimidating and won't be enough to keep Bueckers from getting buckets. Take the Over with ease.

Wings vs Sky same-game parlay (SGP)

Sky -1.5

Paige Bueckers Over 18.5 points

Angel Reese double-double

Death, taxes, and Angel Reese racking up another double-double.

It seems inevitable, right? After showing much frustration with the team's performance in their narrow two-point loss to the Washington Mystics on Tuesday, Reese is coming in fired up despite the quick turnaround. Expect that to be channeled into getting her seventh double-double this season.

There won't be much resistance from a Wings team that won't have much woman-power on tap, so expect Reese to lead the Sky to the promised land for tonight's matchup.
