The Minnesota Lynx will seek a 9-0 start out of the gate when they visit the league-worst Dallas Wings today.

Dallas has just one win on the year, but there is some good news to report (finally), as Paige Bueckers will return from a three-game absence following a concussion.

Despite the return, my Lynx vs. Wings predictions and WNBA picks expect Minnesota to steamroll its opponent on June 8.

Lynx vs Wings predictions

My Lynx vs Wings best bet: Lynx -9 (-110 at DraftKings)

The Minnesota Lynx improved to 8-0 on the year with a thorough 88-65 whipping of the Phoenix Mercury.

The Lynx and the New York Liberty — the two combatants in the WNBA Finals last season — are the remaining undefeated teams left in the league.

Minnesota is second to them in all major offensive categories, including scoring (84.9 points) and field goal shooting (46.6%), while ranking first in assists at 23.6 per contest.

Defensively, the Lynx are allowing just 74.8 points per game while holding opponents to a 27.2% clip from 3-point range — tops in the W.

That’s not good news for the Dallas Wings, who dropped their fourth straight in a 93-79 thumping at the hands of the Sparks.

Dallas has been a defensive non-factor, allowing teams to score 88.9 ppg, which ranks 12th among the 13 teams in the league. It's also Bottom 3 in field goal and 3-point shooting defense.

The addition of Paige Bueckers is welcomed to a lineup that hasn’t been able to sync up enough to stay competitive in games, even with the fifth-best scoring unit in the WNBA at 83.4 ppg.

That’s not a good sign against any team, especially a team like the Lynx, which has already beaten Dallas twice this year and in six of the last eight matchups.

Paige Bueckers pick: Bueckers starts slow in return

My best bet
Under 13.5 points (-115 at FanDuel)

Bueckers was just getting her feet wet when she felt a headache following the team’s loss to the Chicago Sky on May 29. She’s been in concussion protocol since and was finally cleared Saturday.

It hasn’t been a dynamite start for the top pick, averaging 14.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 6.7 assists per game in six contests, and she should be monitored very intently.

While her scoring line seems like a gettable 13.5 points, Bueckers has only topped that total three times, and went Under the mark in two games against the Lynx.

Lynx vs Wings same-game parlay (SGP)

Lynx -9.5

Paige Bueckers Under 13.5 points

Arike Ogunbowale Under 1.5 threes

With the Lynx on the spread and the Under on Bueckers’ scoring line, I’ll wrap this SGP with the continuing struggles of Arike Ogunbowale

She was a non-factor against the Sparks last game, scoring just eight points on 4-for-10 shooting, including 0-for-1 from downtown.

Ogunbowale is hitting at a career-worst 28.1% clip from downtown. She’s had two big games with five or more makes, but six at one or less.

With Minnesota’s 3-point defense in town, expect those shooting struggles from distance to continue.
