We have just two games on the afternoon WNBA slate for today, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t some strong picks for bettors looking to wager on player props.

In particular, I’ll be looking at Minnesota Lynx stars Napheesa Collier and Courtney Williams to hit their totals this afternoon against an overmatched Dallas Wings team.

Find out more in my WNBA picks for Sunday, June 8.

Napheesa Collier Over 22.5 points (-110 at BetMGM)

The Minnesota Lynx are off to a perfect 8-0 start and should have little trouble remaining undefeated this afternoon as they visit the last-place Dallas Wings. The fast start has been fueled by great play from forward Napheesa Collier, who is leading the WNBA in scoring at 25.1 points per game.

Collier has been able to pad her scoring stats against Dallas, as she combined for 62 points in her first two meetings against the Lynx. Dallas is allowing opponents to score 88.9 ppg, and Minnesota has taken full advantage of that, posting 92.0 ppg in the first two meetings.

I expect nothing different in the third contest between these teams today, which means Collier should hit the Over on her scoring total.

Courtney Williams Over 5.5 assists (-135 at bet365)

Big days for basketball offenses rarely benefit just one player, and that’s why I’m also targeting Courtney Williams for the Lynx. Williams is the leading distributor for Minnesota, logging 6.3 assists per game on the season. That’s not a fluke of a small sample size either, as she put up that same average in 2024 for the Chicago Sky and finished last year logging 5.5 apg.

Like Collier, we’ve already seen what Williams can do against the Wings. In the first two head-to-head matchups, Williams put up nine and seven assists, easily surpassing the total that’s been set for her tonight. Overall, she’s tallied 5+ assists in six of her first eight games.

If Collier is the player most likely to benefit from an offensive explosion in terms of scoring tonight, we can’t ignore the fact that Williams is the one who will be dishing out the lion’s share of the assists. I’m taking her to hit the Over at 5.5 assists in a game where Minnesota should push the score into the 90s.

Marina Mabrey Under 16.5 points (-115 at bet365)

On Friday, Marina Mabrey scored 34 points to lead the Connecticut Sun to a stunning victory over the Atlanta Dream. It was easily Mabrey’s best game of the year and bounced her season average up to 17.4 ppg.

That’s an unusual level of production for the 28-year-old, who has averaged 12.4 ppg for her career. Granted, Mabrey is being pressed into a more primary scoring role alongside Tina Charles (16.5 ppg) as the Sun try to make their way through a rebuilding year. However, I still have my doubts about her ability to keep up her current pace, especially when that average is largely buoyed by one early-season game.

Mabrey and the Sun will head on the road to take on the Washington Mystics, who are a solid enough defensive team. The Mystics are allowing 80.8 ppg and are seventh in defensive rating (100.7). Those aren’t inspiring numbers, but against the worst offensive unit in the league, it should be more than enough to keep the scoring in check.

The Sun average only 72.5 ppg, and in their first meeting, Washington held Mabrey to just 11 points despite Connecticut reaching 85 in total. I expect the roster to come up well short of that mark this afternoon, which is why I’m picking Mabrey to hit the Under on this prop.
