Three WNBA games are set to tip off on Saturday, and the final matchup on the slate will be between the Seattle Storm and Phoenix Mercury at PHX Arena.

Both teams have been competitive so far this season. My Storm vs. Mercury predictions reflect how close this matchup could end up being.

Read on for my WNBA picks for Saturday, June 7.

Storm vs Mercury predictions

My Storm vs Mercury best bet: Storm -5.5 (-110 at bet365)

The Phoenix Mercury have the better record in this pairing and dusted off the Seattle Storm 81-59 earlier this season, but oddsmakers are bullish on Seattle’s ability to hang in this game and come out on top.

The Storm avenged themselves in their second matchup with the Mercury by securing a 77-70 home win, and have looked exceptionally resilient on the road thanks to their formidable defense.

Seattle has covered in two of its three road games this season. Its latest impressive feat against the spread came against the undefeated Minnesota Lynx. Phoenix is capable, but won’t be at full strength.

Phoenix forward Alyssa Thomas is dealing with a calf injury and won’t provide her usual all-around assistance for a fifth consecutive game.

That’ll deal a major blow to the Mercury, as she ranks second on the team in points (15.2) and rebounds (7.6) per game. She also paces Phoenix with 8.0 dimes per contest.

Seattle has a great chance to cover, given all that the Mercury will lose on both sides of the ball with Thomas sidelined.

Storm vs Mercury same-game parlay (SGP)

Storm -5.5

Satou Sabally Over 19.5 points

Satou Sabally Over 2.5 assists

I like the Storm’s odds to cover the spread and win this game because of the Mercury’s missing star, but that doesn’t mean Satou Sabally can’t pad her stats a little. The former Dallas Wing has thrived without Thomas over her previous four games.

Sabally has posted 21.3 points and 3.3 assists per game over her previous four contests. Shot volume has been the least of her worries during that span, as she’s averaged 17 shots per contest throughout it.

She’ll still have plenty of opportunities to share the sugar, though. Seattle’s defense will key in on Sabally and she has no problem finding open teammates. After all, she has a career average of 3.6 assists per game and notched more than 4.0 assists per game in each of her previous seasons with Dallas.

Sabally will put her best foot forward. It is unlikely to be enough for her team to cover or win.
