Two All-Star pitchers square off before the break as Yoshinobu Yamamoto and the Los Angeles Dodgers (57-39) conclude a three-game series with the San Francisco Giants (52-44).

Ray’s strikeout prop is set at 5.5, and I’m targeting the Over with my best bet for today’s matinee.

Dodgers vs Giants prediction

My Dodgers vs Giants best bet: Robbie Ray Over 5.5 Strikeouts (-130 at Caesars)

The first two games of the series were nail-biters. First, the San Francisco Giants grabbed an 8-7 victory in Game 1, and then the Los Angeles Dodgers broke a seven-game losing streak with a 2-1 win in Game 2.

Both games saw Giants starters record plenty of strikeouts — Logan Webb had six punchouts in the opener while Landen Roupp recorded eight strikeouts yesterday.

It’s reasonable to expect more of the same with Robbie Ray (2.63 ERA and 26.8% K rate).

The veteran has experienced success at home (2.48 ERA), striking out 6+ batters in six of his last seven outings at the notoriously pitcher-friendly Oracle Park.

While they may typically be a difficult matchup, the Dodgers rank 24th in wRC+ (84) with a 24.6% K rate in the last 20 days.

The weather forecast favors pitching as it’ll be a chilly day in the low 60s, and the winds aren’t blowing as fiercely as they sometimes tend to do in the Bay.

Ray has already been ruled out of pitching in Tuesday’s All-Star game, and therefore shouldn’t have a shortened leash against a rival NL West team five games ahead in the divisional standings.

Caesars QuickPick: Our Dodgers vs Giants same-game parlay (SGP)

Robbie Ray o5.5 strikeouts

Yoshinobu Yamamoto Over 5.5 Strikeouts

Under 7.5

The Giants have played to the Under (19-28 O/U) at home this season and are 4-10 O/U in Ray’s last 14 starts.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto has been superb this season (2.77 ERA and 27.9% K rate). He faces a Giants lineup with an underwhelming 89 wRC+ in the last 20 days against right-handed pitching, and he’s well rested after lasting only 41 pitches in his previous outing.
