The San Diego Padres welcome the Texas Rangers to Petco Park for the rubber match of their three-game set during Sunday Night Baseball.
Luis Arraez has been a hit machine with six knocks in the first two games of the series, while Marcus Semien has been a consistent producer for a struggling Rangers offense.
Those two players highlight my Rangers vs. Padres predictions for Sunday, July 6.

Rangers vs Padres props for Sunday Night Baseball
Luis Arraez Over 1.5 hits (+185 at Caesars)
The San Diego Padres managed just 10 hits in their 7-4 loss to the Texas Rangers on Saturday with four of those knocks coming off the bat of Luis Arraez.
The Padres infielder led the NL with 200 hits last season and is in the mix again as he ranks tied for fifth with 97.
He ended June on a nice little run with hits in 12 straight games, and he’s now recorded a knock in 17 of his last 20 outings. He’s already picked up six hits in his first two games of the series vs. Texas and has multiple hits in five of his last 10 contests.
The left-hitting Arraez should find success tonight against Rangers starter Jack Leiter. The right-hander carries a 4.29 ERA and a 1.30 WHIP through 14 starts and has surrendered 5+ hits in each of his last four appearances for a total of 25 over that span.
Fernando Tatis Jr. 1+ runs (-145 at Caesars)
It’s been a bit of a rocky road for Fernando Tatis Jr. this season as he’s hitting just .258 — close to the worst mark of his career. The two-time All-Star has helped his team in other ways, though, as he’s still finding a way to get on base and score some runs.
Despite batting .258, Tatis Jr. leads the Padres with 61 runs scored this season, thanks in part to his team-high 43 walks.
The right fielder has reached base safely in seven straight games while crossing home plate in three of his last four outings, and I like his chances of doing so again vs. Leiter, who hasn’t demonstrated great command this year.
The Rangers starter ranks in the 18th percentile of all pitchers with a 10.5 walk rate according to Baseball Savant, so Tatis Jr. should be able to reach base at least once or twice and hopefully cross the plate again for the Padres.
Marcus Semien Over 1.5 hits + runs + RBI (-106 at Caesars)
Marcus Semien put up some donuts in Saturday’s win as he went 0-for-5 at the plate, but don’t let that distract you from his recent hot streak.
The Rangers second baseman hit .324 in June to go along with 16 RBI as well as a team-leading 33 hits and 18 runs scored, and he’s carried that momentum into the first week of July.
Semien has gone Over 1.5 hits + runs + RBI in eight of his last 10 games and has been one of the few consistent producers on a Texas team that’s struggled to score this season.
The 34-year-old has 42 RBI this year, second on the Rangers to only Adolis Garcia (49), and has driven in 10 runs over his last nine contests — with five coming in the last three games.
Semien has also notched at least one hit in nine of his last 10 games, so I don’t expect a repeat of yesterday’s performance.
