Knicks vs Celtics Prediction, Picks & Best Bets for Tonight’s NBA Playoffs Game 2

Logan's prediction: The Boston Celtics have Jrue Holiday back and will need him more than ever to be a successful facilitator in order to get past a Game 1 performance they would like to forget.

The Boston Celtics pulled a “Reverse Space Jam” in Game 1 against the New York Knicks. With Boston holding a 16-point edge at halftime, the Celtics apparently ran out of “Secret Stuff” and instead choked back some “suck serum”.

Boston is likely to bounce back in Game 2, and my Knicks vs. Celtics predictions see Jrue Holiday being front and center when that happens.

Here are my best NBA picks for May 7.

Who will win Knicks vs Celtics Game 2?

Well, who knows at this point? Boston looked like a lock for the victory in Game 1 before the bottom fell out in the second half. That said, the Celtics are 58-18 SU off a loss going back to 2022-23. Game 2 odds give the C’s an implied win probability of 83%, so expect Boston to even this series Wednesday.

Knicks vs Celtics prediction

My best bet: Jrue Holiday Over 3.5 assists (-115 at bet365)

Jrue Holiday returned to the Boston Celtics’ lineup in Game 1 with the New York Knicks after missing three games against Orlando due to a sore hamstring. He logged 39 minutes and stuffed the stat sheet for Boston, scoring 16 points, grabbing six rebounds and dishing out three assists.

That assist output could have been higher if not for the Celtics’ piss-poor shooting in the second half. Holiday would register six potential assists in Monday’s outing but came in just below his closing assist prop total of 3.5 (Over -115).

With Boston bound to rebound from that poor shooting effort in the second half and playing with a little extra after Game 1’s collapse, Holiday’s early player projections sit north of four assists for Wednesday’s clash.

Before missing the final three games with the Magic, Holiday has dished out five and six dimes in the first two games of Round 1, boasting an average of 9.5 potential assists in those showings.

The early movement in his assist market is trending toward the Over, with sharper books jumping from Over 3.5 assists -106 to as high as -120. But you can still find this result lower at bet365.

Knicks vs Celtics same-game parlay

Jrue Holiday Over 3.5 assists

Jaylen Brown 20+ points

Kristaps Porzingis 7+ rebounds

Holiday is at the wheel of this Celtics offense, which will shoot much better in Game 2 and makes the most of his set-ups.

Jaylen Brown’s projections are north of 20 points. He still scored 23 points despite a horrible night from beyond the arc.

Kristaps Porzingis was under the weather in Game 1 but still pulled down four rebounds in 13 minutes. I like him to have seven or more boards in Game 2.
